YESCO CMO to Cut Ribbon at ISA International Sign Expo 2017

The annual event is the largest gathering of sign, graphics and visual communications professionals in the world

Salt Lake City, Utah (April 13, 2017)—Jeffrey S. Young, chairman of the board of the International Sign Association (ISA), will officially open ISA International Sign Expo 2017 on April 20 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The annual event is the largest gathering of sign, graphics and visual communications professionals in the world. Jeff along with his father, Thomas Young Jr., and brothers, Michael T. Young and Paul C. Young will cut the ribbon and call the convention to order.

Jeff is the chief marketing officer and a senior vice president officer of Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO). “My grandfather, Thomas Young, founder of YESCO, was elected president of the National Sign Association (a precursor of ISA) in 1937 and served two terms. He and others were able to envision the bright prospects for business in spite of pre-World War II anxieties and pressures. They understood what electric signs meant to business and the economy,” said Jeff. “To imagine how far the sign and lighting industry has progressed during the past 80 years is incredible. We are grateful for our long-standing relationship with ISA and the benefits it provides.” YESCO former general manager, Ben F. Jones, also served as the association’s president in 1978.

During his tenure, Jeff plans to intensify efforts to help members expand into new digital technologies which will be showcased at ISA Sign Expo. He, along with other association leaders, will focus on providing greater support to state and regional affiliated associations located throughout North America and abroad. “Signs are a part of a broad-based graphics and visual communication platform. Just as my grandfather and others did, we will work to guide and expand our industry to fulfill our role in building local, national and international economies,” said Jeff.

Jeff has spent 36 years at YESCO in various positions. He has worked throughout his career to help YESCO grow to become one of the largest sign companies in North America. In 2011 YESCO began franchising its unique and proprietary sign and lighting service business. Jeff, Mike, and Paul and a number of their children are third- and fourth-generation employees of the company and work closely with their father and grandfather, Tom, who remains active and involved with the company.

Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in Japanese. He obtained his master’s degree in business from the University of Utah. He has recently served as president of the World Sign Association and was featured on the Emmy-Award winning series Undercover Boss. He has also appeared on the NBC Weekend Today and CBS Sunday Morning television programs. Jeff has been married for 28 years and is the father of five children.

The Shops at South Town

The skilled craftspeople at YESCO Salt Lake are just now putting the final touches on the unique monument sign that will soon identify The Shops at South Town. The company has already installed several directional signs at the center. The mall located in Sandy, Utah has recently undergone a renovation project. We are proud to be a part of the redesign initiative. The comprehensive sign package was designed by Scott AG.
