Service and maintain electrical and non-electrical signs, as well as interior and exterior lighting in all types of weather conditions; thoroughly and accurately complete computerized job work orders; ability to communicate job status/progress with office representatives; occasional out-of-town/overnight stays may be required.

Prior experience in the sign and lighting industry (neon, LED, fluorescent, etc.) Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues. Clean driving record with a CDL Class A license.

Commensurate with experience.

We are seeking an experienced sign and lighting technician to work out of our Vancouver office. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in servicing signs and all types of interior and exterior lighting. The successful candidate with have excellent communication and problem solving skills. Experience using a bucket van is a plus.

Must be a self-starter and motivated. Minimum of 3-years experience in the field with all required tickets including fall protection training. Certified electrician will be preferred. Candidates must work in compliance with WCB regulations, and have a BC Drivers license with a clean driving record.

Responsible for executing repairs, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on, including but not limited to, indoor lighting systems, electrical systems, outdoor facility lighting, signs, parking lot lights, wall packs, indoor and outdoor neon. Strong electrical troubleshooting background highly recommended.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs electrical wiring of external and internal signs consistent with specifications and electrical codes.
• Capable of completing minor and major sign and lighting service repairs.
• Capable of repainting a sign in the field.
• Repair and replace plex/acrylic/polycarb faces in signs.
• Knowledge of neon units and transformers.
• Knowledge of LED systems and how to troubleshoot outages.
• Fluorescent lamp and ballast troubleshooting.
• HID lighting troubleshooting, parking lot lights, exterior lighting, wall packs, ect.
• Experience with estimating, review project specifics, surveys, job walks, maintenance photo books, maintenance planning /pricing.

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs signs as needed.
• Perform truck and equipment maintenance as needed.
• Fill out reports, paperwork, and customer information as needed.
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Courses required meeting State regulations for a Journeyman Electrical License, or Master Sign Electricians license.
• Minimum of five years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance and preventive maintenance.

Qualified candidate must have 2-3 years of sign/electrical service experience including parking lot lights, neon, LED, fluorescent, and diagnosing electrical issues. Candidate must also be a self starter with good organization skills, attention to detail, work with minimal supervision, work outdoors, have a clean driving record, work at heights in excess of 35’, and be familiar with tablets and smart phones. Superb customer service and problem solving skills are a must.

Develop new business through prospecting that will be generated by sales people and fellow team members; Create and manage current and new client relationships.

Qualified candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field. 2-4 years of sign & lighting industry sales experience will be accepted in place of Bachelor’s degree. Candidate should also have excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, attention to detail, good organizational and customer service skills. Must be comfortable with prospecting, cold calling, and networking to develop new business. Management of accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and future opportunities is necessary. Must possess a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience with smart phones and tablets are a plus.

Base salary plus commission.
