Sign Technician & Installer

YESCO Sign & Lighting Service and our parent company Screenguild Signs Inc. has an immediate opening for an Sign Technician and Installer.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a great opportunity for exposure to many aspects of the signage industry and room for advancement.

To succeed in this role you will preferably have experience working in a large format print shop or sign fabrication shop. You are very comfortable working with computers as well as light manufacturing equipment (e.g. table saw, routing table, drill press). You have a professional appearance and communication style suitable for representing Screenguild Signs while on site at our customers’ businesses. Most importantly you have a very positive attitude while working with a team, a can-do attitude, and proven ability to learn and problem solve.

Duties:

– Running wide-format printers

– Finishing signs – weeding and cutting vinyl, mounting printed graphics to substrates

– Light fabrication – utilizing basic power tools to manufacture signs out of plastics, metals and vinyls (table saw, drill press, impact drill/driver, drill, routing table)

– Shop maintenance and cleaning – keeping shop, tools and work area clean, tidy and organized

– Shipping and Receiving – Packing orders for delivery, receiving orders from suppliers

– Deliveries – driving a company vehicle throughout the lower mainland to deliver customer’s packages

– Installations – supporting our senior technicians with sign installations out in the field.

Requirements:

– High School graduation

– Ability to lift heavy objects at times

– Fluent in English – strong communicator, both written and spoken

– Class 5 Drivers License with clean drivers abstract

– Basic computer literacy – email, MS Word, Print software (Flexi, VersaWorks)

– Lives locally – we are only considering candidates currently residing in the lower mainland

– Canadian citizen or permanent resident

Nice-to-haves:

– Post-secondary education

– Graphic design skills or interest

– Sign or Print industry experience

– Knowledge of electrical and lighting products

– Customer service experience

– Working from heights certification

– First Aid certification


Sign Service Night Patroller

The Role:

YESCO BC has an immediate opening for a part-time Night Patroller to canvas the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley region 3-4 nights a week after dark to photograph signs and exterior lighting in need of repair. Sign outages are submitted to our office through our proprietary YESCO mobile app. It’s simple, it’s fun and no experience is necessary! Training is provided, all routes are pre-planned and the schedule is flexible. Just turn on the app, drive the route and snap your pictures.

Your role as a Night Patroller helps the business community and public stay safe with well-lit facilities, you’ll be part of the YESCO BC sales team by arming them with additional opportunities, and you’ll be benefiting YOU with flexible hours and additional income. Additional hours during regular business hours may also be available for the right candidate, primarily supporting fabrication in our shop, doing deliveries, and supporting installations on site.

Requirements:

– Good knowledge of your assigned route (Surrey, Langley, and surrounding area)
– Must own a smartphone with a data plan (Apple or Android)
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
– Ability to work after dark on a regular basis (min. three nights per week for 3 hours)
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (copy of ICBC Drivers Abstract required)
– Reliable vehicle
– Attention to detail
– Valid auto insurance (you’ll have to provide a current insurance certificate)
– Ability to attend team meetings at our home office in Aldergrove or remotely over video or phone. Typically 1-2 meetings per month, during regular business hours.
