YESCO recently completed a large-scale custom commercial signage project for Buckeye Commons and Buckeye Commons West in Buckeye, Arizona<\/strong>, creating a comprehensive sign system designed to give the new shopping complex maximum visibility along the I-10 corridor while helping visitors navigate the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the center of the project is an impressive 75-foot-tall illuminated pylon sign weighing approximately 50,000 pounds<\/strong>. One of the largest illuminated polycarbonate face signs in Arizona, the towering structure provides high-impact identification for the development and its tenants from the nearby interstate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the 75-foot pylon was only one part of the project. YESCO also provided four additional pylon signs ranging from 20 to 60 feet tall, five 8-foot directional directories, and 15 custom ADA signs<\/strong>, creating a coordinated signage and wayfinding system throughout the development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Sign Designed for the Arizona Desert<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The signage combines corten steel with illuminated polycarbonate panels<\/strong>, creating a rustic aesthetic that complements the surrounding desert landscape while providing strong tenant visibility after dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a large retail development, signage has to accomplish more than simply identify the property. Engineering Around an Existing Foundation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the most interesting challenges was actually beneath the signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concrete footings and base pipes had been installed at the property more than a decade earlier for a previous design concept. Rather than removing the existing infrastructure and starting over, the engineering team developed a solution that allowed the original steel and footings to be retrofitted and reused<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The approach saved time and resources while maintaining the structural integrity required for signage of this scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
