{"id":12577,"date":"2026-05-12T15:46:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T21:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yesco.com\/sacramento\/landmark-fairfield-arch-is-coming-down-in-a-restoration-effort\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T15:46:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T21:46:05","slug":"landmark-fairfield-arch-is-coming-down-in-a-restoration-effort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yesco.com\/sacramento\/landmark-fairfield-arch-is-coming-down-in-a-restoration-effort\/","title":{"rendered":"Landmark Fairfield Arch is Coming Down in a Restoration Effort"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br>By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcra.com\/news-team\/a19c10fb-26eb-4ec7-ab2f-e5f5414203b0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mike TeSelle<\/a> <strong>\u2014<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcra.com\/article\/landmark-fairfield-arch-restoration-effort\/71281904\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kcra.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FAIRFIELD, Calif. \u2014<\/strong> For a second straight day, workers lifted in crane baskets continued a restoration effort of the century old Fairfield Arch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The landmark sign is coming down as part of a restoration effort led by fundraising from the Fairfield Lions club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The arch endured through repeated threats and turning points,&#8221; read a statement on the city of Fairfield&#8217;s website highlighting the restoration effort. &#8220;Now, near its 100th year, the arch needs another community chapter.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once all the pieces are removed, the YESCO sign company is set to repaint and add LED lighting and other specialized electrical components, according to the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcra.com\/article\/landmark-fairfield-arch-restoration-effort\/71281904\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"922\" height=\"518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yesco.com\/sacramento\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/Landmark-Fairfield-Arch-YESCO-video.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12578\" style=\"width:1104px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The plan is to unveil the new look Fairfield Arch during the July 4 parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Erected in 1925, the sign faced a proposal to remove the arch, which sparked strong public opposition in 1961.
