A Sweet Flashback: How Salt Lake City’s Historic Candy Company and YESCO Made History

One of America’s oldest family-owned companies has deep roots in Salt Lake City. Since moving to Utah in 1900, the Sweet Candy Company has been making iconic treats like saltwater taffy and Chocolate Orange Sticks, shipping them to from “Alaska to Australia” and to customers across the globe.

Sweet’s legacy was lit up by a massive electric sign, the largest of its kind in the Intermountain West. This masterpiece was created by YESCO, the same legendary company behind famous signs in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, California and beyond.

While the sign is now a part of history, the delicious legacy of both companies lives on: one in a sweet taste, and the other in the timeless glow of Utah’s skyline.
