Reno Arch Changes Colors

April was the National “Donate Life” month.  The intent is to encourage Americans to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. It also aims to honor individuals that have saved lives by donating to this cause. Every April, Donor Network West, an organ procurement organization in Nevada and California raises further awareness about Donate Life. This year, the goal was to bring attention to the 600 Nevadans who are waiting for an organ transplant. With the help of YESCO, DNW lit the Reno Arch blue and green. These colors are a symbol of organ and tissue donation.

YESCO then quickly changed the lamps to all blue, in honor of National Police Week celebrated May 9-15. National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations. The event was established in 1962 and is intended to honor those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
