YESCO Sacramento was contracted to reface the existing double-faced pole sign at Chavez Supermarket in Sunnyvale, California, replacing the sign’s existing faces with new Lexan panels featuring translucent red vinyl graphics.

Located at 666 North Fair Oaks Avenue, the supermarket uses elevated roadside signage to help customers identify the property. The project focuses on updating the sign’s visible components while retaining the existing pole sign structure.

Refreshing an Existing Pole Sign

A commercial sign does not always need to be completely replaced to receive an updated appearance.

When the supporting structure and cabinet remain suitable for continued use, replacing the sign faces can refresh the business’s branding without requiring an entirely new sign system.

For Chavez Supermarket, the planned update includes new faces on both sides of the existing pole sign, maintaining identification for motorists approaching from either direction.

Lexan Sign Faces and Translucent Vinyl Graphics

The replacement faces will be manufactured using Lexan polycarbonate, a durable material commonly used for commercial sign cabinets.

The new graphics will feature 3M 230-33 Red translucent vinyl, providing the specified red branding on the replacement faces.

Translucent vinyl is commonly used on illuminated sign faces because it allows light to pass through the graphic material. Combined with a properly functioning lighting system, these materials can provide clear identification during both daytime and nighttime hours.

Why Roadside Signage Matters for Grocery Stores

For supermarkets and other retail businesses, roadside visibility helps customers recognize a location before entering the parking lot.

Pole signs are especially useful for properties along commercial roads because their elevated position can make identification visible above parked vehicles, landscaping, and surrounding development.

Maintaining readable, consistent branding on both sides of a sign helps businesses present a recognizable appearance to customers approaching from different directions.
