Peoria Water Tower
Concept to Completion
The goal was to create a landmark that honors Peoria’s railroad heritage while serving as a high-tech hub for community messaging. We aimed to craft a 35-foot vintage water tower replica so authentic it appears to be a historic relic, despite its true purpose as a sophisticated, 5G-integrated digital display.
To bring this vision to life, our team built the structure from the ground up, blending a weathered, antique aesthetic with modern industrial strength. The steel supports were fabricated with a specialized finish to mimic decades of desert oxidation. To maintain a seamless look, cooling systems are tucked out of sight beneath a classic standing seam roof, protecting the electronics without ruining the tower’s historic silhouette. Deep concrete footings anchor the structure on-site, designed to hold the massive frame steady against the Arizona elements.
What looks like a traditional water tank is actually a 360-degree high-definition canvas. This 13-foot diameter LED wrap is engineered to stay vibrant even in the blinding desert sun, using a 5G connection that allows the City of Peoria to share live updates remotely. Marked by two 48-inch illuminated logos, the tower stands as a functional beacon that perfectly bridges Peoria’s pioneering past with its digital future.
